    Hi guys,

Im starting a intense boxing class later at 8pm..I normally get home from work at about 6.30pm and have dinner. I know I cant eat much now before I work out (repeats on me really badly) so does anyone have any recommendations on what would be the best meal/snack to have before an intense cardio workout? I will need to eat something as Im usually ravenous when I get home and probably wont get to eat again until about 10pm.

Ps Im doing this class to loose weight?

This is an odd one, but it does work. Black coffee with a spoonful of coconut oil melted into it. Eating a high carb meal before a work can definitely help with increasing intensity, but it tends to cancel out fat burning. In simple terms, your body will not burn fat while there is a significant amount of insulin present.

Coconut oil is a fat, so no insulin response, but it tends to behave like a carb, giving quick energy which will help you work harder. And caffeine is well known as useful before a workout.

If you're ravenous at that time, coffee with a little coconut oil might not be enough for you, although it is great in general.

Id say if you ravenous as you say, its best to have something small like 2 oatcakes with a little cottage cheese or peanut butter. Something small like that.
