Hi, just wondering where i stand here.

Our company pays for our health insurance and we are charged BIK every month for it.

I moved to different position over 2 years ago within company and they have just come to me today to say since i moved, they havent been charging me BIK.

Just wondering where i stand with this as its their mistake?

They said they are going to see how much they have missed on payments from me and back date it and will have to charge me, but said they wont charge me all at one go (bloody right they wont ).

Just wondering if they still have to charge me even though they messed up?
    Thanks

the money is actually owed to the revenue and it is owed by you, therefore it is you who has to pay it.

It is a total bummer but unfortuantly there isn't a simple way around it, if they didn't deduct it from your wages and tried to be nice to pay it for you, there would be further tax implications !!

Maybe they will be nice to you at bonus time or for holidays etc ?

didn't you notice they weren't charging you bic any more?

I don't think it's worth fighting with your employer over it. Take the hit.

That is unfortunate, but as the poster above says the employer can't give you a break on this. You owe the revenue the money.

Thats ok, thanks a mill. They did say they will work out paying it back as i deffo cant pay it all at once.

Tbh, i honestly never noticed it as ive never even had to use the health insurance since ive been there (8 years) so its not something ive kept track of really.

its a bit of a joke that when you get a job and they say, we will pay your health insurance and it ends up costing more in BIK than going out and buying health insurance...

i was paying less privately than through current company policy (exact same policy)
