    Hi
In the process of applying for my HGV licence - its an expensive racket what with Theory test, 2 x CPC theory tests and licence fees and driving lessons.
Just wondering how many lessons I will need to take - they're working out about €170 per lesson using driving schools vehicle so I need an idea of how many I'll need to allow me budget for them.
    Any feedback much appreciated.

If you are doing the cat c you should be able to get by with 5 2 hour lessons and a pre test. That's what I did to get the c last year.

Also I'd recommend appling for your teat first, then when you have a date get all your lessons in the run up to the date.

as above. book the test first before any lessons. should get test in about 6 weeks or less. gives you something to aim for plus by the time you do the test you should have about 10 to 12 hours under your belt.
just one word of caution when i done my pre-test the instructor was not the guy who done my lessons. he was a complete knob and said i needed at least another 20 hours tuition. i told him to get stuffed and done the test and past with only 1 fault. the guy i done my lessons with told me it was just a money racket. to get you to do more lessons.
    good luck.

I think you forgot about 2x practical CPC test.
Anyway, you don't need to do CPC unless you want to work as a driver...
