Ok Im a huge Metal Gear Solid Fan, and Im trying re-create Old Snake's M4 from MGS 4...bare with me if you dont know the game. Below is a picture of the m4 please help me identify the colour of the grip, and stock! It sound simple but I change my mind every time I look at different pictures. Link Thanks! Robbie;)

Its a kind of a goldy colour isn't it. A snake load out, nice.

That thread was me again, since then I've got an Dboys M4 Cqb, changed out the front end, I have flip up sights on route from asia, but really cant decide on the colour of the stock & grip.

I used to think tan, but now Im thinking Dark Earth / Olive Drab / Tan!

I thought that at first but its not, S System has a continues top rail from rear sight to front end, this has separet rails, with a D Ring in the middle, which I have sorted, alls i need are the grip and stock, but really cant decide on colour!

McGilla,

It's definitely Tan.

It kinda looks off on that pic but it's definitely not OD.

I've seen numerous models of old snake and they all have tan stocks and grips.
Here is a toy model that has tan just so you can see.

The reason why some pics have od furniture is because they were preview images of the game, you can find some early photos with an eotech and od furniture as opposed to tan and an aimpoint in the finished game.

I say use the MK. 23 with your loadout, I always remember snake having it, it's better suited than a m1911

The final projest is nearly complete, I am awaiting on stuff from Asia.

I've finally finished this project... my M4 Custom from Metal Gear Solid 4.
The reciever is a Dboys CQB SD, thats all that is stock.

Not remotely an S system.

its a free float 7 inch RAS system, SPR flip up front sight, flip up rear battle sight, LE stock, VLTOR Birdcage flash hider, standard grip and body, 14.5 inch barrel.

What you need...

7 inch free float ras... cheap enough, half of china clones them
flashhider... ebairsoft do them. you've got the sights....
stock is likely standard.

Colour... Its tan. NOT od. The game renders it as as goldy due to 'shade' and a specular map over the rifle to make the metal shine. The m4 is actually one of the Mercs, and as the mercs wear tan kit, tan would make sense. Snake just takes it off them, if you recall.
