Lol the music section of Boards.ie really is bad :)

Back on topic. Ham Sandwich are good enough but Carry The Meek was inconsistent and would have been better off as a 4 or 5 track E.P. There were still some moments on it that showed promise though, especially the first few tracks but there was far too much filler. Hopefully they have a better album this time around and i probably will check it out just out of curiosity.

Their first album was pretty underwhelming so the lack of interest in this one is understandable. I'll check it out anyway but to be honest I'm not expecting much.

    I would add 'predictable'.

I've had a chance to hear the record. It's a step-up from the debut, but still nothing amazing. A few good tracks that'll end up on the radio though.

a step up? sounds good to me.

And thats the most positive-ish thing said so far!

I liked the last single they had out, and if the rest of it is like that then i think you are right with step up line.

    Goody!

I liked the first album. Some great songs on it. I don't think it had a bad song.

One of the more amazing things I've discovered this year is that Niamh, the singer, was on a US show called I Didn't Know I was Pregnant.

I'm amazed it's gotten this far without somebody pointing out that the OP's first post on the site was to casually mention that Ham Sandwich's album is coming out...

Good point. If this was any other forum he/she's account would be closed straight away for advertising. But this is boards.ie...

Please use the report post function if you believe there is a problem with a post.

And since this has turned into a discussion about the band I'm happy to leave it in Alt/Indie as opposed to moving it to Band Promotion.

    <SNIP>

Not the place for this sort of speculation/abuse.

whats speculation, pal? turns out it is true.

    http://www.herald.ie/national-news/courts/meteor-award--singer-stole-to-pay-her-debts-1700986.html

whats speculation is the suggestion here someone connected with or within the group made an account to make this thread and promote their album.

The speculation I was referring to was not to do with the court case but other things you hinted at.

And the abuse of the singer was the main reason your post was edited.

If you want to discuss this further do it with me by PM.

    jaysus...well I guess we all love a bit o rock n roll :)

sounds like she makes up for the whole band...and maybe the whole irish music scene :pac:

never rated the band really. Thought they got more press for onstage antics and outfits etc...decent songs but thought there were bland. Click Click Boom was decent.

I've heard the album, I liked it. I'm not really a fan, didn't like Carry the Meek but imo this is better. Niamh's singing is excellent, very sweet, and vocally Podge seems to be taking more of a back seat.

That's good to hear. One of the things that really annoyed me on Carry The Meek was Podge's backing vocals, they just sounded out of place. Niamh is a really good singer though.

Apparently she is in talks for a new show called I didnt know I was a cleptomaniac.

Yes the lead singer was in court. We know this.

If anyone wants to make cracks about it take it elsewhere.

This isn't the forum for it.

They played down in Waterford on Saturday. I actually started to enjoy them towards the end but I definitely think there was a direct correlation to my enjoyment and the alcohol. Remember them playing a song called the Naturist which had some legs and seemed to resonate with the crowd. Shame it was their last song.

It's pretty ok! Not really hugely memorable, but there's some nice moments on it!

She deserves a lead role in "I'm still a ride".
