Hi, the other day I ruined the keyboard on my laptop by spilling tea all over it, and now only half the keys work (thankfully the laptop itself works).

Does anybody know where I'd be able to get a replacement keyboard quickly (its a Dell Inspiron 1720), because using the on-screen keyboard is driving me mad!

    Thanks in advance,
    Patrick

ebay is your best bet, I got an original dell one from the US last year for €15 instead of the €90 they wanted for it here. Onl;y thing it was a US keyboard so a couple of keys different but nothing major

Thanks for your responses, after doing a bit of looking myself, I found a website called laptopparts.ie, has anybody used these before, and if so, how reliable/quick were they?

    Thanks

    Hi,

Did you get a replacement keyboard ?
I'm looking for a faulty one.
I need 3 keys for mine.

Please let me know if you got sorted and want to get rid of the old one.

I just replaced a keyboard with a similar problem on an Inspiron 1300, I imagine they're fairly similar. Very easy job. I got one from HongKong for 9.99GBP free postage, arrived in 14 days. I have a 1510 also, the KB is electrically the same but the cable is a diff shape and wont physically fit as its a diff mobo/CPU
