Eyesight temporarily impaired after gym session

Hi guys, just wondering if anyone has any suggestions,

Im a 22 year old male, 5' 11" and around 85kg. Im in college in Limerick, I don't play any sports, but go to the gym and swim to keep in shape 4 or 5 times a week.

I notice that after a good session i often can't see properly for a few hours. It's happening as I type this. When I left the pool i could see fine, but now as i'm in the library all my peripheral vision, and sometimes just exactly where I'm looking is blinded by shimmery colours. This happens probably once a week after the gym, and i always have to hang around afterwards because I don't feel its safe to drive when I cant see properly.

In the gym I do 200 sit ups, sprint 1-2km, bench 50kg plus the bar for 3sets of 10 reps, shoulder shrugs with 32.5kg 3 sets of 12 reps, and various other machines and exercises that I don't yet know the name of!

I am concerned about how my vision is being affected, usually the colours go away after 2 hours, but has anybody any advice for me, or what this is an indication of? Any body else had a similar experience?

    Hi OP

As has already been advised, this would be better discussed with your GP as this post could be construed as "seeking medical advice" which is against the rules of Boards.ie
