Just wonder whats the done thing in this situation. I bought of a big ebay seller, they gave a bad service. I got a screen for a nokia phone which includes the tools to install it. One of the screwdrivers was the wrong size, so I mailed them telling them. They wouldn't send the proper one out till I sent the wrong sized one back. Now, this screw driver costs about 20 cent to buy new. I told them a stamp and envelope costs more. They were having none of it, and wanted the old one back first. So, I sent it back and still heard nothing. They said they never recieved it.
I ended up buying the right screwdriver off someone else and installing the screen and left the original seller with a negative review. Now they keep sending me mails offering me my money back if I change my review. I said no first, but every couple of weeks I get a mail from them.
So, is it normal for sellers to do this and is it expected for you to change your review? Or is this selling out?

id just ignore them if i were you..
You said you posted it back and they never received it.. Considering its worth, you'd think they would have given you the benefit of the doubt and just send you the correct screwdriver.

Tell them if they had provided decent service in the first place there would have been no reason for a bad review. Also tell them that if they e-mail you again you will put a further review outlining their blackmail attempts and send a report to ebay.

Agreed... I would suggest that you could change it to, "after leaving negative review, seller agreed to give me my money back", but that too would have to be negative so there's not much point.

Being offered your money back because you left a negative review is not a positive point. So you'd be lying to give them a positive review. (Unless you really need the money... ;) )

    Leave it as is.

Too many people retract negative feedback, making the whole point of feedback useless.

I told them exactly that the first time.

Negative feedback makes them look bad and could loose them sales, so a lot of sellers will try and get negative feedback removed.

I wouldn't do it, it defeats the whole purpose of the feedback system.

Yeah, that's what I was thinking. When someone has lots of sales I usually just check the negatives to see how they deal with customers.

I think I'll leave them with the bad review, they can't buy me off!

If you're happy with what you said, and not too peeved about having to have paid a bit more than you should have, then leave it as it is.
