Friend of mine has a 1997 BMW (same as myself), just the other day when he started the engine it seemed to flood, now ever since then he has to put his foot to the floor, and start revving it, then eventually take off, after a little chuckering it will be grand. He can stop and start all he wants then and all will be grand, but if he leaves it lyng for around 4 hours, or overnight he will have to do the same in the morning to get it going.

Sounds a bit wierd to me, anyone have any ideas as to its possible cause???

Head gasket??, had a problem like that on a car, hard to start, fine when warm..Turned out gasket had a tiny leak..

Get a Mech to check it over, could be a lot of things...

Havn't done anything with it yet, generally he is good with the usual car stuff like doing service but this time i think he just doesnt have any money to bring it to a mechanic and spend serious money on it you know. I hope to god its not the head gasket because that would be a lot of money wouldn't it.
