Pretty amazing film and well worth a watch. The whole story runs like a work of unbelievable fiction but it seems like it is fact?

The fact that the guy was sentenced to 144yrs is equally unbelievable. Watch it folks and make of it what you will. I personally find it indictive of todays culture of the bankers getting away with crimes that they commited against society whilst the individual is left to rot for the same 'crimes' caught only by the red tape and embarresment of those in power.

Denial I reckon;) I saw past the 'gayness' to be honest.

The scene where they trick you into thinking he's having sex with another chick instead of his wife is pretty off putting in fairness.

    Watched it today, good movie.

Carrey & McGregor are both excellent! Especially McGregor imo.

I found the film a bit scattered kind of. I just didn't think the stories flowed together well even though they were clearly linked and I was kind of confused for some of it.

I think that in years to come, we'll look back on movies like Philip Morris and see nothing more than straights like McGregor and Carrey camping it up just so that they can tick off another minorities box on their acting CV.

Harsh. Being Scottish does not count as a minority!

How many minorities has Carrey potrayed in his career? How many has McGregor? I'm sure they did it because they liked the script and they were handsomely paid.

Just saw it tonight, thought it was great. I thought the performances were brilliant. I can't believe the ridiculous sentence Steven Russell is serving though, it seems like the authorities were more annoyed by his escapes than by any of his fraudulent activities outside of prison.

I really enjoyed this alright, pleasantly energetic tone and overall a lot of fun. The big reveal at the start (paraphrasing:
"Oh, by the way, I'm gay"
) had me in stitches. The story is absolutely ludicrous, and genuinely couldn't believe most of this stuff is true. OK, altered chronologically for drama's sake, but yeah mostly a good ****ing story.

Note: we've been forced to stick a 'strictly over 18s' sticker on this in our shop because someone came in giving out stink about the homosexual content. Definitely shows up that these things still are unfortunately a big issue in society, so I rarely recommend it to people despite it's pretty damn good. Explains the super delayed American release too :pac:
