Sky Discounts

Hi,

I have recenylt heard that if you call Sky up and tell them that you want to downgrade or cancel your deal with them they will offer you a deal on your package for a few months.

I heard if your think your paying too much they will do this for you. Can anyone offer any insight into this. Has anyoen tried.

It does happen but not always. There was a thread recently where somebody said that Sky called their bluff and cancelled.

i rang them up and one of the options on the phone is "press x if you're thinking of canceling". pressed that, straight thru to some lad and i said "times is tight etc" and he said straight away €38 off per month for the next 6 months. my package is around €102 so brings it down to €64 per month. he said to call again in february and see if they can do something similar.

We rang them up and they said we could have 20 % off our package excluding the multiroom we said that's grand . But they rang up few days later saying we can't actually give you 20% we will give you 50 % off instead . happy days

i rang up to cancell my sky was offer 31.50 a month off for the next 6 months in paying 73 inc multi room atm

Theres lots of threads about this in Bargain Alerts.

But basically, you ring the Cork centre, and say either:
1/ You want to cancel sports or movies
2/ Say you are moving to NTL
3/ Say you have lost your job

You may or may not, then get a discount, seemingly based on how long you have been with them, what sort of package you have (Sky World = better chance for example), who you get to speak to and what mood they are in, how nice you are to them (Remember always be polite and dont be afraid to ask if there is anything they can do for you regarding discount)

We had a SKY salesmen around recently and he said there was something in the air for existing subscribers in the New Year.
All very mysterious.
I think there will be a big push to get everyone onto HD

I have Sports, Movies, ESPN. All the packages except the kids one and the arts channels. Have been with them at least two or three years. Im paying around €90 that includes Multiroom. Thanks for the advice

i have got very basic sky+ for a tenner a month till feb.

I rang up to pretend to want to cancel multiroom which is 15e per month. They offered it to me for 10e so I said I'll keep it so. Not much of a saving but better in my pocket than theirs!

Got half price for 6 months. Had finished in June after having Sky for the minimum 12 month period. Sky rang me offering this deal last week.

You should have pretended to cancel the whole lot.

Got the basic pack + one mix for €10 a month for 6 months.
