Please help! My Riello Burner is firing for my upstairs heating, but not for my downstairs heating or my water heating. No airlock in fuel. Thermostat downstairs is working. Reset button is not lighting up and pump not coming on for downstairs & water heating. Starting to get cold...
    Cheers everyone!

Don't think its a problem with the burner, most likely a problem with the control units, if you have upstairs on separately then you most likely have three zones so you would need to give more information on your system setup and control type. If the system is wireless then it may need resetting or it could be as simple as your stats are turned down.

Hey, thanks for the reply. There are three zones regulated by electronic control. i made sure that the Thermostats were turned up. Each time the burner and pump will respond when i hit the upstairs heating button on the control but there is no response at all when the downstairs heating or water heating is turned on.

The zone valves for hot water and downstairs will have a lever that you can set to manual, then turn the upstairs on so that all will heat. What make of controller, valves do you have and is it hardwired or wireless.

Thanks Done Dl and Mick! I opened those valves and it began to work immediately. Should I get someone out to take a look at it?

Yes, if the boiler hasn't been serviced recently see if a friend or neighbour can recommend a competent RGI. I would guess that the programmer is at fault as losing two zones would be unlikely to be caused by anything else but I've been wrong before.

Cheers. Thank you very much. The warm house will keep the wife happy... for a while anyway!

You will have to get it looked at, if your system is wired right, you boiler will continue to run if you have a motorised valve opened manually. If it isn't wired right the time clock will still shut it down.

RGI are for gas appliances, you will need an OFTEC registered service person.
