Good to see this. American politics is so loud and full of idiots. Its good that moderate common sense people make their voices heard as the partisan dingbats lay siege to reason and proportion.

Taking bets on how the hard-line right wing nutjobs percieve this:

50-1 A program to concieve more "Terror Babies".

20-1 Something to protest against while carrying automatic weapons.

5-1 A plot to usurp the hard working, Christian American with Muslim extremists.

1-1 Something un-America and against their "morals".

1:2 as an attempt to dillute Beck's urinating all over MLK day.

1:5 that they'll still find a way to be offended by the above.

These poor lefty types, their operating from a position of disadvantage. Their back on their heels and always having to respond to events taking place around them. Their reaction to the tea party was first to discredit the movement and then attempt to counter it with the creation of the "Coffee Party"....nice work. They were hoping for a no show at Beck's rally and that didn't happen so now we have this response.
The fact of the matter is that the Republican Party is in the process of being purged and the message is resonating. Meanwhile the Democrats fought tooth and nail with Clinton's endorsement to get Charlie Rangel reelected.
For the record, I think Stewart and Colbert are both talented and super funny entertainers and enjoy watching their programs.

That's satire at it's best, brilliant stuff :D

It gives me hope for America, that the reasonable ones are putting their hands up and saying "Enough!"

If you think there is some ongoing process of purging the Republicans, you are hilariously mistaken.

Ah becky poo, you give and give.

    http://www.thehollywoodgossip.com/2010/09/glenn-beck-to-jon-stewart-good-luck/
Glenn Beck might make Michael Lohan look like a mentally stable individual, but the Fox News host at least understands good public relations.

The conservative commentator made his first statement regarding Jon Stewart's Rally to Restore Sanity this week, likely aware that any negative sentiments would run counter his platform of freedom in America.

Referring to his Restoring Honor event August 28, Beck said:

"8/28 was a historic event for a lot of Americans. I hope that Ed Schultz, the AFL-CIO, Jon Stewart, Stephen Colbert and whoever else wants to plan a march in DC have the same great success that we had with Restoring Honor."

So far, so good for Stewart and company. While it's silly to base too much on Facebook responses, the Rally to Restore Sanity has received close to 100,000 positive RSVPs on its Facebook page in less than a week.
So mature isn't it? Rational and reasonable even. It's like we're getting closer to Stewart's America already.

But, Glenn, you're on the air for 4 hours a day between television and syndicated radio: when will you learn to not be such a motormouth?

    http://www.mediaite.com/online/glenn-beck-jon-stewart-using-his-rally-to-activate-the-youth/

    (Audio in Link)
Alas, it turns out I was wrong. Glenn Beck has no intention of giving his short, quick statement on Jon Stewart’s Rally to Restore Sanity and just leaving it at that. Instead he’s decided to speculate that their rally is a secret plot to “activate” young voters.

Jon Stewart has shown his colors along with Comedy Central and Stephen Colbert and they are going to activate the youth to try to get them to vote with the Labor Unions apparently, I guess, I don’t know. That’s why it’s been scheduled the weekend before, not to suppress that vote, they’ll suppress it all the way up and then Jon Stewart and Stephen Colbert will activate the youth to try and get the youth to go out and vote.

Get out the kryptonite! Beware the youth! Oof, hard not to think it would have been so much smarter for Beck to stick to that first statement or at least frame Stewart’s rally as some sort of ‘imitation is the sincerest form of flattery’ joke. This way he’s practically writing Stewart’s material for him.

Not to mention, theorizing that Stewart has secretly planned this date for one week before the election so he can suppress and then ‘activate’ voters conjointly with the Labor Unions sounds like some bizzaro version of all the ludicrous things people speculated Beck was trying to accomplish by planning his rally for 8/28. Actually it sounds like a Saturday morning cartoon: Team Restore Sanity! Activate!

Also, the far more entertaining part of this clip is when Beck says he hopes Christine O’Donnell is a Glinda-like witch, because he’d rather vote for a good witch than a Marxist.*

Look for Team Activate t-shirts coming soon! Listen below. [H/t Media Matters]
    more to come, am sure.

Colbert already responded to the latest Beck Theory: First 2 minutes of http://www.colbertnation.com/the-colbert-report-videos/359742/september-21-2010/in-poor-taste---mark-shriver

Is the secret youth activation signal.... a Pirate Squirrel?!

Hope there's some decent coverage of this available in Ireland. Somehow doubt Fox will have much. :pac:

Colbert's post-rally show is really quite frightening.
