Question about back to education allowance...

I just received a letter stating that I have been approved for BTEA allowance and that I just need to post off a college registartion form to complete the application, which i have done so this morning.

I'm just wondering how the Cost of Education Allowance of €500
    works exactly?

Is it paid in one lump some towards my books/college items?

    Cheers

Once your BTEA is up and running, the Euro 500 will be paid in lump sum to you in October.

Any idea when in October? It's now nearly halfway through and still no payment :(

They say this week or next. Last year it came through on 15th Oct.

Thanks for the almost instant reply haha.
I'd love it this Thursday! It's around that date. But I have read on other posts people got theirs late in November. Hopefully not this year!

It usually comes a week or two after you send in the college registration certificate. be warned though, if you are not with Bank of Ireland you may have to wait a number of days for the cheque to clear. I got mine on a wednesday and the money didn't go into my account until the following tuesday.

I'm a little confused. I get paid through the post office but I've asked them to change to my bank account but I expect to have to ask again for that the bloke didn't seem to take much interest just scribbled something down. But how did you end up with a cheque? I thought you got paid through bank or post office?
