I'm getting quite into urban fantasy books, but no one else I know reads them. Does any one here have any good recommendations?

I've never heard of the sub-genre. Now I'm intrigued. Could you name some of the books you've read in that category please?

Not really my genre, but there's a starting list here on Wikipedia.

From Ixoy's list as an FYI :
    I read and liked:
    Jim Butcher (Dresden Files series)
    Simon R. Green (Nightside series)
    Neil Gaiman (Neverwhere)

    but disliked
Laurell K. Hamilton (The Anita Blake: Vampire Hunter)

Noticed yesterday that Chapthers in Dublin seem to have a whole section devoted to the Genre, beyond the usual stuff.

Would suggest looking at The Walker Papers by C.E. Murphy.
