Got a 318 bimmer up to 132 mph yesterday and was blasted by S class mercs and the like.

Excellent. Coming back with the 8er some time soon.

edit: - got burned by a Yaris at over 100.

BMW speedos are notoriously accurate unfortunately ;)

    Current 318 does 210km/h / 131MPH...

Sounds like it, 132mph in a 318? It'd fly apart!

It wouldn't. Last time I was in Germany I my speedo in my 03 Mondeo 1.8 Zetec, was showing 141 MPH (225km/h).
Unfortunetly, my satnav was showing only 205km/h, and that's much more accurate. (I compared satnav speed with tachographs in different vehicles, and with the speed showing points on the road, and was almost 100% accurate.

Anyway 205km/h is 128MPH, and mondeo was still in one piece ;)

Even more - I did 400km stretch of road in about 2hours and 10 minutes, which gives average of 180km/h.
Pretty much I had to keep about 200km/h most of the time to get such an average. Done in winter in the middle of the night at -17 degrees celcius, when there was almost no traffic at all. And mondeo still didn't die.

The great thing about driving in Germany is the lack of mickey waving you can blast by an RS audi AMG Merc 911 etc and they don't feel the need to re take their position ahead of you....then you have to pull over as a transporter rockets past lol

Going past the cops at around 120 mph was my favourite bit,i went to mass and said a prayer to St Joe Duffy after it i felt so dirty! :D

Smidge under 130 (oh did the original calc  )

Those 318's are a load of w*nk imo. Seriously underpowered. Not sure about that new control wheel in the centre console either. Keep hitting it by accident on gear changes.

Makes the sat nav go mental when you're getting lucky :D

Odd moment today. Other motorists and myself caning it past a copper at close to 200 km/h. Marvellous.
