Worms and mixed grazing

I had a discussion with a sheep farmer last week, who was having thrive problem with his lambs. From fecal tests, it was found that worms were the issue. But dosing didnt really seem to resolve the issue (it did for a short while after each dose, but then as the land had a high worm burden, the problem came back again)
He was recommended to get some cattle, and get the cattle to graze the same ground as the sheep for a few months every year.
Apparently the sheep will reduce the cattle worm burden and the cattle will do the same for the sheep worms...

Now - this shows up my lack of knowledge of the various worms which affect sheep and cattle. But I said I'd throw it out there, to educate myself

    - Is the statement above true, that "sheep will eat & kill the cattle worms, & vice versa"?
    - Can someone provide more info on this - what exact worms are we talking about here?
    - Is there any specific times of year the cattle should be grazing to reduce the worm burden on a sheep farm?
    - Has anyone had this issue, or got sheep / cattle to resolve a parasite problem?

Any info / thoughts anyone has on it, are appreciated.

Dont know the exact science of it but it works! I run calves before sheep with no dose except once for hoose. Fell apart last year with rumen fluke problem. I think it has to do with different worms infecting different species. The problem may also be with resistance of worms to different wormers ie useing the same dose every year will increase the numbers of resistant worms on that pasture
