Registration Fee / grant?

    Hi,

I applied for a grant at the end of August, and haven't heard back.
I am going in to my final year in college, and it is my first time applying, as my dad lost his job this year.
Registration is closing this friday in college.
So I was wondering what I should do with regards to the registration fee.
Do I just pay it myself, and wait to hear from the council? Do they reimburse you?

Any information would be greatly appreciated as I am quite confused about the whole situation, and am not familiar with how the system works.
I emailed the council, but haven't heard back.

1 Ring or email the council to see what is happening - make sure they are aware of the change of circumstances in your Dads income so that it is assessed on 2010 income not 2009
2 Check with the college to see can you delay paying fees until you hear back
3 If absolutely necessary pay the registration fee yourself but if you are awarded the grant you will get it back
4 Expect delays with the county council

It was so much easier to blame it on Them. It was bleakly depressing to think that They were Us. If it was Them, then nothing was anyone's fault. If it was us, what did that make Me? After all, I'm one of Us. I must be. I've certainly never thought of myself as one of Them. No one ever thinks of themselves as one of Them. We're always one of Us. It's Them that do the bad things.
