    1. i have a 03 nissan xtrail that has started emitting a lot of black smoke when accelerating anyone any ideas what is causing this 98k on the clock.

    2. how often should timing belt be changed.

    3. mislaid manual and wondering where i might get a replacement.

    Oil and all filters changed can work wonders with diesels.

    Leak in one of the air hoses maybe?
    Usually presents as a big plume of black smoke under acceleration.
