Pretty decent film, set in a post nuclear war america,
Denzel Washington is good as always and a good twist at the end ...

    would recommend it.

No no no... I watched this on the plane from Abu Dhabi to Tokyo and lets just say it aided my sleep. Awful film!

I liked it because it mirrors what my view on religion would be. It is a film that does have it's problems though, it just kinds of drifts aimlessly without really engrossing you in the film.

The setting and certain aspects of the story reminded me of the game Fallout 3 as well. :pac:

Maybe you can explain the one part of the ending where I think the film falls down.
He was blind yet he was well able to shoot and fight?

A film done well and based upon Fallout 3 could be potentially awesome.

    To put it simply?
God guided him, he gave him his sight back until the task was done.

I really didn't like this movie unfortunately, Denzel is usually good but I found this quite boring :(

I don't agree with that really... I think on a second watching
it is fairly obvious that he cannot see throughout the movie. Things like the scene where the body was hanging in the closet, he jumps, and on first watch it seems that this is because of the body. On second watch it is obvious that he is isnt aware it is there, he jumps because something falls as he opens the door (could have even been the door, I can't remember). There was also some detail with the way he handled his ipod, but I cant remember the details. It's a while since I watched it but I remember thinking second time around that I had to be stupid not to see some of the clumsy hints

I quite liked the movie tbh!
Certainly didnt see the twist coming anyhoo!

    The
ability to fight while blind was about faith - knowing while not knowing ... and there were clues during the film , he messed too long with the iPod while it clearly said "Battery low" ...

Thinking about it now I would put it down as an OK movie - nothing more than that. The twist was a bit hokey but some scenes were very nicely shot, excellent acting throughout as well. It looked good in all the right ways - story was a bit overblown and silly. Odd that it came out at more or less the same time as the Viggo Mortensen Post apocalyptic survival one 'The Road' which was more realistic and overall far superior though possibly less commercial.

I obviously wasnt paying enough attention so, must watch it again.

I thought the bit with the iPod was just him not knowing how to properly use an iPod :o

I agree with the other two posts above. And possibly to the first part of this.
He was blind and had very keen senses that helped give the appearance that he could see. But I was also thinking that because he was on a mission from God, his abilities were greatly increased and that's why he couldn't be killed until the mission was over (kind of like the Blues Brothers film, which is an odd connection).

I liked the film. One twist (
that the book was the bible
) was fairly obvious and the other (
    that he was blind
) came as a bit of a surprise. I was expecting something different. It wasn't a bad film at all. And yeah, it really reminded me of Fallout 3. :D

I really enjoyed the first half of the movie.I think Denzel and Gary Goldman are great actors and the film had a very "Mad max" meets "the road" feel about it, which was great

The other reason I liked it was beacuse of
how smoldering hot Mila Kunis was in some of her scenes
