Can anyone recommend a primer my makeup (vichy dermablend) is sliding off my face- particularly my chin! Ive just ordered a stippling brush on ebay hoping it will give me better coverage.

    Coped from another thread lol
I use Gosh Velvet Touch Foundation Primer and think it's fab.

I think its about €18 though for the facial foundation, so not exactly cheap, sorry. I also use the Gosh Velvet Touch Eye Primer and find it good. But, tbph, eye facial primer does just as good job as the eye primer, the only real difference is the price. I also have the Gosh Eyeshadow Base and found it good tbh.

It might be cheaper if you buy online.

These threads may also be of some help.

Also would recommend the GOSH Velvet Touch foundation primer! Works really well on my skin and keeps my foundation looking fresh and clean. It is a bit expensive but the bottle is after lasting me ages. Smashbox is another really great one.

at the min i use laura merciers primer and don't find it great. It doesn't seem to smoothe out my skin at all and my make up doesn't last a massive amount of time with it compared to without. I get a bit longer but not worth it at all for €44!

When i run out i'm going to try the gosh one or loreal studios

I've been told by a few counters to use a serum instead of primer, would anyone else reccommend this or know anything about it? Is it just serum before make up or is it serum, moisturiser then make up?

Smashbox primer is definitely the best I've tried. I really do love it. I'm all out at the moment and can see a difference in make up application and the general finish. If your make up is sliding off your chin, perhaps you need to use a pressed powder as well?

another vote for smashbox, well worth the money. i'd spend more than that than on my foundation. lasts all day.

For anyone with a very rosy complexion - expecially after a few glasses of wine! Try No. 7 Colour corrector primer - its green but really does work at reducing red skin tones :)

MAC prep and prime. I've used the Smashbox one too. I prefer the MAC one though as it does a better job at preventing my skin going shiney. I've a REALLY oily t-zone. Make-up forever do a great primer too, however it's very expensive so I don't really think it's worth it!

Another vote for Gosh! The bottle is almost gone now (It lasted ages!) and I think next time I will give smashbox a go! I've heard great things!

Can anyone please explain what difference primer makes compared to going straight into putting on foundation?

Also, do you moisturise before you use primer or are primers also moisturisers?

Sorry I'm a bit clueless

Moisturise BEFORE you put on primer.

A primer just gives your skin/make-up a matte finish.

I am out of primer atm and have noticed a difference in my make-up. My face is shiny and my make-up just doesn't look right lol.
