I am interested in importing some sporting goods to sell in Ireland direct to the public at around the cost which the wholesaler is selling them to te shops. I would be bi-passing the distribtor here in Ireland and I am wondering if Legally do I have anything to worry about?

best of my knowledge you are within your rights to start a business - unless the wholeseller has an exclusive contract with the distributor....if not - its an open market (but don't expect an easy time - some businesses like to protect their "patch")

all you are offering is to remove the middle man - simply giving a link between wholesale to public - becoming a shop yourself, removing a distributor.... make sure you make enough profit..... some wholesellers will only deal with distributors (the order quantities are larger)
