Passat Alarm?

    Have a 2002 passat, everytime d wind blows, a rain drop touches it, a leaf falls on or near it.....................or sum1 looks at it:mad:, the alarm goes off?

    Its goin off 3, 4 , 5 times an evening and its driving me insane

    Any ideas?

    You'll need to have someone look at it. Its not easy diagnosing a problem with an alarm. It could possibly be a number of things such as a faulty door lock.

    Get an expert to look at it.

    The control unit for the alarm is in the passenger footwell,

    Passats are prone for the seals going, First of all check if the carpet in the front passenger footwell is wet.

    If it is open the bonnet, To the top right there should be a pollen filter, Check the seals inbetween the pollen filter housing and the body work, If its perished it might be letting water into the footwell and corroding the contacts on the control unit.
