changing iphone owners

hi all. got an iphone 4 and im trying to sync my itunes library with it. restore from backup worked and i got my emails, contacts, messages over. however i cannot get my apps/music over. its all selected to sync in itunes, but somehow does not go over. is there a way to make it sync over?

got it to work.

uncheck applications then sync = synced all music, then synced all apps aftewards
