Noise from steering

    Hi guys,

Apologies if this thread is in the wrong location!

Having a problem when i turn left a kind of grating or scratching noise from the front right wheel area. My guess is i've a stone lodged in there somewhere - i took off the wheel and 2 tiny pebbles fell out. I couldn't find anything else and my "mechanic" also took off the wheel and had a look but neither of us could find anything else yet the noise persists. It's not there when you are stationary and turn the wheel left so i'm hoping it's something small. Its a golf car with 5 spoke alloys. I'm not overly mechanical and i assume my mechanic looked at the break lining area and stuff. Any advice would be much appreciated

Had a problem like that with a Seat it was the CV boot needed to be greased. VW make it from hard plastic so it could just need a bit of grease

Get another mechanic to have a look.

My guess would have being, pads worn or something logded in the caliper.

Or cv joint boot has split.

Anyone recommend a good mech who knows wha he's doing and won't rip me off. I'm **** sick of cowboy mechanics :-(
