Does anyone do it? I am very interested in comets and was wondering is it possible to see them without a lot of special equipment. On the 20th of Oct comet 103P/Hartley will be within just 0.12 AU with an apparant magnitude of 5.

correct me if I'm wrong but this means it will be easy enough to spot?
    Also
The Deep Impact space craft will pass about 1000 kilometers from the comet on November 4.

Could this be seen also, without expensive equipment?
