These question came up one day between me and of my friends. Neither of us have been running for long

If one were running 45 -50 miles a week for 20 weeks on roads of different elevations nothing to high, how would one fare on mountain runs? Would they have the abilty for running up mountains like croagh patrick with no problems?

If a runner was doing 45-50 miles a week with 12-15 mile long runs would they be able to run faster on shorter races like 10k's?

Does the way you breathe whilst running help with running long distance's?
