Hi all. I hope this is right place to ask!

We are wondering of these items are of any value before we bring them down to an antiques shop - and if they are, where is the best place to bring them?

First item is ROF wooden chest, which has ROF and 1778 writte on it which is in good condition. It belonged to a member of the family.

The second item is a book from the Black Book collection, about Belgium. I bought it on a spur and payed a decent amount for it as the seller said it was a collectable item. Bit silly looking back now and it doens't really serve me any purpose so I would like to know if indeed it is valuable.
The book has many painted drawings too.

If have additional images for both items if needed.

    All opinions and help appreciated!

Chest is nice but I suspect that the book is of little value - check Abebooks.com here http://www.abebooks.com/servlet/SearchResults?an=omond&sts=t&tn=belgium&x=85&y=7 where the same edition is available for as little as $9.59.

I would put the chest into an auction rather than bringing it to an Antiques dealer. Oliver Usher at John Street in Kells (046) 924 1097 or (086) 1706767 or Joe Carty Auctioneer at Nobber (046) 905 2145 might be a good ports of call.

Thanks for that - pity about the book.

Will give the auctioneers a shout!
