Mark on Windscreen

I've got a mark about 4" long on my windscreen.

It's not a 'normal' scratch, that is to say it doesn't seem to have been caused by a stone strike. It look more like a rubber (wiper?) mark.

Can't seem to remove it though. I've washed the screen inside and out and the mark's still there!

Any ideas on how to remove?

    TIA:)

Is it a mark on the glass or a scratch in the glass ?

Pic of it maybe? It is more then likely from the wipers all the cleaning and polishing won't remove it.

    Thanks for the responses guys!

I tried to get a pic, but it's pretty dark today, so couldn't.

It looks like a 'rubber' mark. I don't think it's a stone scratch, but could be wrong...I'll try to get a pic in the am, hopefully it might be a little brighter...

If it's rubber, thinners will remove it. If it's a very very light scratch, jewellers rouge will remove it.
