Parents first trip to Oz...

My parents are off to Australia for the first time in the middle of October and I'm trying to help them plan their trip, as they're clueless about researching stuff like this. At the moment the plan is to visit my aunt in Perth, then to travel across to the east coast, travel down from Cairns to Brisbane overland and to finish in Sydney. I've been to Oz a couple of times, but only as a backpacker, so obviously the websites and stuff I've used don't exactly suit them. I've been looking at some hotel websites such as tripadvisor and booking.com, which aren't bad, but if anyone could suggest some other websites etc for accommodation, car-hire and camper-hire (affordable ones if possible!) that they know are good that would really help:)

Sometimes the Loyalty Programs can be of benefit. My parents used to pick up some discounts by being a member of Best Western Rewards but I am sure there are others too.

Have they considered taking the sleeper train across Oz, to me that would be a better trip than the standard flying.

    Google Indian Pacific.

Its on my bucket list anyway

Apparently the Blue Line costs an absolute Fortune, and in the end of the day yer crossin the Nularbor which is not the most exciting thing, Fly to Cairns and then Tilt train down the east coast, I've done the trip a few times, its a lovely way to see the country
