I need a bit of assistance if someone would kindly help me out.

A month ago I rooted my desire with the help of PAMG. Since then, I've been interested in getting a ROM manager as he/someone suggested it to me. Thing is, I only have a basic understanding of how it works and what it can do for me.

Can anyone suggest one for me? Is it worth paying for one through the marketplace?
What exactly does it allow me to do? Pros/cons?

ROM Manager is a free app, it makes flashing ROMS and making backups easier.

ROM Manager has a free and paid version. Some components are disabled in the free version, backups maybe, i can't remember.

All ROM Manager does is simplifies installing new ROM's and performing nandroid backups. you don't have to go messing about in recovery yourself. Just download the ROM, copy it to the root of your SD card, and use ROM Manager to install it in a couple of easy steps. It'll also allows updating of ROM's ota if they support it.

You'd have no need for the paid version, which is $3.99, the free version is fantastic, you can go straight into your recovery mine is Clockwork Mod, flash a ROM, do nandroid backups etc, makes the whole process much less painful!
