White americano - should I get hot milk or cold milk?

I like white americanos. Today I ordered a skinny latte and a skinny white americano.

They gave me the latte with hot milk and the americano with cold milk.

Are they just being lazy or do I need to say "skinny white americano using hot milk"?

Well an americano does not have milk, a latte is made with hot milk. So if you ask for slim milk with one why would you presume that barista would know you wanted hot milk unless you ask for it?

Well maybe I'm just Mr. Efficient, but I would assume it would be just as easy to put more milk into the pot so there's enough for the latte and americano?

Also, it seems to be about 50/50. Some places automatically give hot milk, others give cold milk. In my experience it is the well run places which give hot milk.

But technically I am incorrect, I should specify hot milk?
