    cheers jw..
sorry for all these questions but its my first driven shoot!

they said there are a few different stages to the day its a 100 bird shoot so if there are 10 gun`s thats 10 birds each so i take it anything over 100 we have 2 fork out and pay for? also do we get to take a brace of birds home when the day is over sorry if you dont know the answers to my questions im just getting a bit anxious and cant wait to get going :D...

just be safe , keep you gun in its slip until your on your peg .. dont shoot low birds ... a few high birds are better than any amount low ones . beware dangers . most of all enjoy yourself and take a camera

Pack some 36g No4's, in case they are very high, although this early in the season they might not have learned to keep their distance.

    Very good advice from jws.

Use highpower no.4 cartridges and make sure you have enough. Obey the signals for the start and end of each drive, put your gun in its slip between pegs. Make sure your mates know and OBEY the rules of "No low birds" - there always is one greedy bu@@er!

The keeper will tell everyone what the bag is after the first couple of drives and will (should) warn those who are taking low birds. Expect to pay if you go substantially over the agreed bag limit. You will be (should be) offered a brace to bring home. On the very classy shoots you get a brace already hung and oven ready! A tip also is de rigeuer for the beaters/pickers up, based on how successful the day is. If you shoot the bag 30 a head would be minimum. If you shoot more, and are not charged overage, increase that to 40.
    Enjoy the day!
    P.

I will second what JW wrote. Most shooters on driven shoots skip safety glasses. Big mistake IMO, someone will take a shot at a low bird even on tall bird shoots, deflected pellets off tree limbs can damage eyes.
Fill the cooler with ice and take a extra box of No.4 or 5's.

It is not uncommon to fire a lot of shots on a driven day so if you have the option use a heavy gun to absorb the force of magnum cartridges. Good shooting.
