Dying Hair!!

    Hey!
    My hair is darkest brown and I wanted to dye it with either nice n easy natural medium golden or natural lightest golden...I'm not sure though if these would be a few shades too light and if I'd be left with bright red hair?!
    Also, and this is out of interest more than anything! If i was to dye my hair with a blonde home dye, which would make it an orangey ginger, what would happen if i continued to put blonde dye over that?..Or if i gradually dyed my hair at home, lighter shades at a time, would that work..??
