    Hi all,

I've been learning/playing for about 6 months now, I'm now at the stage where I can move around open chords without too much trouble while holding a strumming pattern.
Now I'm trying to sing while playing without much success. My main problem is being too rigid, e.g If I'm not exactly where I should be while singing for the next chord change it all falls apart, I can't just seem to go with it.

    Any tips? Just more practice?

It will come to you. You are not 100% comfortable with your strumming yet. Trust me it's a matter of weeks and days as opposed to months.

Thanks, that's great to know - I have the same problem. Been playing 5-6 months and if I sing along I can't keep to a regular strum pattern.

Yeah, I'd say practice both separately and make sure you can do both good on your own first. Although its the kind of thing that one day you will surprise yourself and just do it without thinking.

Just a quick question about the lick/motif starting each measure in The Jam - That's Entertainment.

    Is is Up|Down|Up or Down|Up|Down?
