With Aer Arran being in Admin and experts claiming up to 14 foreign investors "very interested" in the company but no Irish takers, where does this leave the AL-AA relationship?
Does anybody have any idea who these 14 investors might be?
Also AL starting to whisper about requiring smaller jets on some routes so we could see some interesting developments on the Irish scene over the next 12 months! A fleet of ERJ's in green would be nice!

It seems they are looking at something larger than the ERJs. The E-195, Bombardier C Series and the A318 and A319 all mentioned in the article linked below. The baby bus would probably be the favourite I imagine, single manufacturer across the fleet and common TR within A320 family so reduces training costs and I'm sure maintenance costs also...

A lot of them are leasing companies wanting to buy the assets, i.e. the aircraft, of the company. One of the possible investors is a syndicate involving Pádraig Ó Céidigh himself, which is being tipped as the most likely investor.

Aer Lingus, FlyBe, Ryanair, or CityJet aren't among them.

    Also its Aer Arann.;)

    Ahem...

They don't operate jets of any sort...

I hope they emerge from this intact.

Ehhh.... I'm presuming by "AL" he means Aer Lingus which does have a couple of jets. :D

Hopefully Aer Arann comes out ok and keeps the brand though. I miss seeing them in Corkonian airspace since they left us. :P

Now lads you can't be going around making up your own designators. EI is Aer Lingus, RE is Aer Arann. AL is some obscure airline somewhere far away and AA is some big American Airline(s) that has lots of jets.

But back to the point. RE is in trouble and doesn't appear to able to survive in it's present form. If Pádraig Ó Céidigh is involved in one of the investment syndicates this does not bode well. Because if there's one man fully aware of the problems. Then it's him.

Aer Arann is in for big changes if it survives this.

Look up www.corkairport.info - the guy on there Dr. Michael Grimes has been forecasting RE's demise for some time.

He is a colourful and passionate character and when I mentioned him on Commuting and Transport I was told not to.

But that site is worth a look.
