I'm sick to the teeth of these Fuppin nutters and their Retarded superstisions about some vague Skyfairy and his cohorts

So I Say its time for Sanity to reign for a while.

Lets burn some Korans, but lets burn some bibles and some of those Jewish scrolly things and the teachings of Budda and All of Scientologys crap about 'Dianetics'

Fukk it Lob in the little book of calm Too.

I'm sick of our society bending over to appease these Fuppin Muppets, everyone is worried about Offending some religion, but what about us who are deeply offended by these Idiotic Followers of some Stone age superstisions.

So I say we burn em ALL

So not doing something purely because it offends other people is appeasement now?!

I hate religion. I think it's all a load of bull****.

However, I don't have any bad feelings to people who have their faith, and I certainly will not disrespect their faith by burning their religious book.

Why? If you don't mind me asking.

I have no specific problem with religious people (people who have faith) but I certainly wouldn't single them out for admiration. I'm genuinely curious. I've heard similar expressions before but never got an answer when I followed them up.

There are too many books in the world anyway. There has to be at least more than 10 for every person. That's far too many. Get rid of them I say, take up too much space.

If only they invested in science instead of religion. We would be thousands of years ahead, but no. Silly world and their crazy little worshipping cults..

It is not the books you fear, it is the education, wisdom and enlightenment they contain that scares you. Using the arguments you have all put forward for the destruction of books, we should therefor start to destroy all computers for through them we can access all sorts of writing and knowledge.
After books and computers we can then turn on teachers for they to enlighten and educate so by your argument must be destroyed and after teachers......
Oh guess what, its Cambodia circa 1975.

On a more serious note, have you actually read all of these "hokum" books you want to burn? Did it ever strike you that there may not be a problem with the books themselves, but with man's interpretations of them?

Should we all just burn ourselves instead??

He's a fat jolly fella who gives secret presents to people at christmas time.

Not sure why we're burning his books though - I think it's something to do with Richard Boyd-Barrett.

Hmm. Once upon a time a man decided the world was round so he wrote it down. They burned his writings too. Lets just burn everything, pollute the atmosphere and block the sun, plants die , people die, no more worries about religious nutters!!!

really, is burning something just because its written down going to gain us anything? All i say is its sad when a patriotic guy wells up when he hears his anthem "the land of the free and the home of the brave" and then affirms it by lighting a book that been around for centuries.

I'll tell you what's pretty 'backwards' - a westernised country in the 21st century bringing in age-old blasphemy laws.

That would be a massive step back for civilisation.

Something you'd expect from the most regressive Islamic states.

I think its a great idea but threatened for the wrong reasons.

If the pastors reasons were to expose the irrational reactions of hate and anger of the Muslim community to an event which shouldn't illicit such a reaction, then it would be a job well done.

But unfortunately the pastor's just a wack job.

    this.

The backlash has proven how off the wall Islam is. They threaten all sorts of reprisals and terrorism just for burning a few copies of the Koran. Totally out of all proportion, but then that's nothing new with the religion is it?

Just burn a few bibles in return, job done.

You can do or say anything about a religion in this day and age, unless its Islam. 10,000 people rioted in Afghanistan today to wish death upon a deluded, crazy pastor who has a congregation of about 50 people, and muslim scholars are saying his stunt 'threatens world peace'. Why? Because they're a bunch of irrational lunatics!

    No, no and thrice no.

This is the mistake many people make with regards to political Islam.

Demonstrations after the cartoons/pope speech and other incidents such as this latest Qu'ran BBQ are not "irrational" or knee-jerk. They are not "lunatics".

These demonstrations are organised and very well thought out. You see, by creating a huge furore over incidents such as the cartoons - the Muslims have drawn lines for the West. Lines that the west end up not crossing due to fear. These protests are all about fear and creating a balance of deterrent.

The west ends up self-censoring with regards to Islam. This is why the Qu'ran burning has ended up with such massive condemnation by western leaders.

It's a very clever and useful tactic. Creating havoc for every incident with regards to insulting Islam, means that the west now walks on eggshells and fears the fallout of anything perceived to be anti-Islamic.

Islamic countries worked tirelessly to get a resolution at the UN condemning "defamation of religion" - which basically means 'don't insult Islam'.

How about all the non-religious people in the world get our own country, lets say New Zealand. Then we can build a technologically advanced ccivilization and watch the monkeys blow eachother up from a distance.
