Hi, I just started using contacts this week but I seem to be having the opposite problem to most people. I can get them in easy enough but cant get them out. Im just after finishing another marathon struggle trying to remove them. Im not sure whats wrong, I have no problem touching my eyes and could do it ok in the opticians. Does anyone have any tips or know any other methods of taking them out?

How long are you leaving them in for? If your eyes are getting dry they can be real sods to remove and they can make some very interesting trips around your eyeball.

Had them in them in for 4 or 5 hours there tonight but my eyes were grand until I went to take them out.

    1. I pull down my lower eyelid(?) with my first finger of left hand
    2. with first finger of right hand i touch the lens and slide it down a bit
    3. then with the first finger and thumb of right hand i pinch it. and 95% of time it comes pops out.

If you are struggling you should go back for a reteach the optician won't mind as they won't want you getting one stuck in your eye over the weekend or late at night

-Have short nails (long ones might help pinch the lense, but they frickin hurt your eyeball!)
-With the pad of your finger move the lense down from your iris a bit
-Pinch lense with pad of finger and thumb

After that you can either finish the pinch and catch it with your fingers/nails (nails also not good on anything but dailies. Icky germs.), or just knock it out by flicking it off. It's only a tiny, insignificant piece of plastic, after all. :)

I have the exact same problem

One way that works for me is position your index finger of one hand above your eye on eyelid and the index finger of the other below your eye on eyelid - 12 and 6 o'clock. Look straight forward - make sure your fingers are positioned to be outside the edge of the contact and then push down and together - so you are pushing your eyelids together(closed) - the contact should pop out - if you get it at the edges.

try to wash hands and have fingers you use to remove contacts wet, and maybe wash your face around eyes to be wet. And then you can use advices given before. I usually use index finger and thumb to remove contact lens from eye and another hand to open eyelids.

small update on my post above - I use middle finger from one hand to open upper eyelid and middle finger from other hand for lower eyelid and then from same hand index finger and them to remove contact lens from the eye.

I pull up my upper eyelid with the middle finger of my left hand. I pull down my lower eyelid with the middle finger of my right hand and use my right index finger and thumb to pinch the contact lens while looking straight ahead. You'll develop your own technique after a while, it's just frustrating trying to figure out what that is!

Induce a tear in your eye before taking out, I do this by staring at some object intensely for a few seconds, my eyes water and then its easy.

Definitely wet your finger, then after that I just slide it to the side furthest from my nose and it pops out itself.
