Hoping someone here can help clear this up for me.

I'm being charged €8.49 per room. On their website they are advertising it as €5, with no mention of an additional charge if you are on the 'Digital Max' pack. Both boxes are just your bog standard ones, not digital plus or anything. Is the extra charge because it's 'Digital Max'?

Ring 1908 and ask them to explain their charge to you. If you are unhappy, threaten to cancel & see what the reaction will be. If they do cancel, then re-apply as a new customer(in Spouse's name or any other household member). If you are a long-term customer, then ask for their loyalty dept and see what you can prise out of them.

Is this your first bill since getting multi room? If so it may be that you are being charged prorata, ie more than one month charge if period overlaps etc...

this happened on my first, called UPC who told me this and fair enough charge covered more than one month... reverted to €5 after that...

No, been with them a few years now.

Going to give them a ring this evening and see if we can work something out.

Rang up anyway and they sorted it no problem. I was being charged the "old price" according to their rep. You can only laugh at that.

Thhe i tried ringing up later about getting an additional Multi room HD box installed. Tried to do it online but it wouldn't let me, as i already have that product? I have an HD box, but not a multi-room HD box.

Rang them up anyway, but they wanted to charge me something daft like €110 to have another box installed. I aksed why it would cost so much when the website advertises it as €60 with €30 credited back t my account. Got somthing about having to add an access point, even though already have the broadband wired into the same room. I've already had two multi-room boxes installed, that didn;t have access points and i sure as hell wasn't charged anything close to €110.

What they told you was nonesense. All their services come through the same fibre optic cable so there should be no issue about an additional point. Go back to them with this info And if they are obstinate, ask them for their technical dept. DO NOT get annoyed with them. I and many other posters on here can vouch for this. Their CS staff can be as nice as you'd like when you are nice to them. That way it can be a win,win result.

The problem with UPC is that is becomes very hard to be nice when youre talking to someone in customer services or technical support who clearly hasnt got a clue what they are talking about. Ive talked to people in UPC who were brilliant, but Ive also talked to more than one "technician" whos technical knowledge of troubleshooting the system extended to plugging the box out and back in again. Ive also had a situation where three different customer service agents have told me three different conflicting stories about a pricing issue I had with my install.

Im all for being nice to people; I work in technical support myself so believe me I appreciate when people are nice on the phone, but everyones patience has a breaking point, and UPC seem to find mine more so than anyone else.
