Shockin' start from Rory. +4 after 7 holes, and that was with a birdie.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 6,296 ✭✭✭RandolphEsq

Tiger steadying the ship the last couple holes.

Woods, Ogilvy and Cabrera for me. So-so so far

There is a cut I'm fairly sure.

Top 30 something go into the Tour Championship next week.

Doesn't look likely now. +4 for his round and +9 for the tournament. The course is playing difficult today, more players over par then under of the players out on the course.

    nearly in last place now...jesus!

Didn't see any of the action this evening but very few low rounds around. Leishman's round stands out a mile.

Pins in very tough positions, some only a few yards on from front of green.

what does mcillroy have to do to get into top 30 for the last round of the fed ex cup?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 11,566 ✭✭✭✭fullstop

Why is there only 2 hours coverage of this tonight starting at 11?

As it stands (projected) he will get 144 points and be 36th in the fed Ex cup with 1441 total. Position 30 has 1547 so Rory needs another 200 points approx. And shoot 66/65.

The danger is Poulter, Moore (leading) and Na, all jumping into the top 30 but a bad final round will drop them back.

Still, Rory will need a great 4th round to have a chance.

Woods will need a top 5 finish to make it. He is still 400 shy of 30th in 44th place.

McIlory off today at 2:50pm (irish time). He needs a good round and other players to collapse to get into the top 30 for the tour championship.

    Woods and Mickelson playing together..

He's -3 after 11. Projected to finish in 33rd on the FedEx cup. Hope he keeps the round going.

The above page will give an indication of how many shots a player is outside the top 30.

Rory has had a bogey and is now 3 shots outside the top 30. He will need to get to -5 today to have a chance, level par for the tournament.

3 boogies in a row has him back at even par today and he needs to find 6 shots in four holes to make the top 30.

    Can't see that happening.

Those 3 bogies really killed his card. He finished +3 and a current projected of 36.

    casey leading.

Not watching it. But I hope Casey crashes and burns on the back 9(sorry HB, know you have money on him) and DJ snatch this. Hell I'd take Poulter winning this even.

Sky(Rob lee namely) are going to be that bit more annoying. Thank Christ he won't be covering the Ryder Cup. This added to the fact, I dislike Casey greatly excluding all the stuff that's happened recently :pac:

Double bogey has surely killed Moore's chances now, and its a pity. Looks like 'Team' (Rob Lee will never shut the f*ck up now)Casey are going to win.

If casey wins he'll go to about world no 5. Monty will be thrilled.

Had to laugh at the SkyGuys bangin' on about Casey and the Ryder cup again when he was looking good earlier on. Completely bottling it now and they haven't much to say. Wallys.

Great shooting from the Sky 4

    Casey throws it away.

Dorothy shoots 75 to miss the tour championship.

    Rose 74

    Donald 77 (bottled last week)

Delighted for Johnson, a well deserved win after some tough finishes this year. The less said about Casey the better, as for Poulter, Johnny Milller's comments about his bad ball striking couldn't have been more accurate on that back nine.

Anyone else hear Casey having a little jibe at Johnny Miller whilst waiting around for Johnson to play out 18? I don't think he liked it.

There's a reason why a player of Casey's ability has only won once on the PGA tour in over a hundred starts and last night we saw it in HD.
