    Hi,
I want to to an arts degree to eventually become a teacher. One of my teachers told me that they done 4 subjects in her arts degree, I didnt ask what college she went to but is this possible in maynooth. If not do you know any other university/college that does allow this? Thanks

Hiya, you can do 3 subjects in Maynooth and it drops to 2 in second year. That's why decided to come to Maynooth aswell, in UCD you can only do 2 from the start, I don't know about anywhere else though...

It's 3 in Maynooth for 1st year and 2 after that.

From reading other people's posts UCC do 4, and I think that's for first year then drop 2 for the remainder.

Thats the way I thought it was in maynooth aswel.
Im sure that there is somewhere that you can do more than 2 after the 1st year

I believe that you can do 4 subjects at the university of limerick and I would not be into moving to limerick and it nearly a 3 hour drive a day

What 4 subjects do you want to do anyway? There's not many teachers who teach 4 subjects...And if you were desperate to do them you could learn them later in life anyways...

I think and I may be wrong but a teacher can teach up to junior cert level the subject that they drop after 1st year. So say you do History in 1st year but drop it after that year you can still teach that subject to students from 1st to 3rd year in Secondary school. I could be wrong with that belief so you should check it out online or in school with a more reliable source.

Not officially but many schools do let teachers teach those subjects too, but the teaching council doesnt let them
