Have you posted notices in your local shop/supermarket/newspaper/community noticeboard?

To be honest, most people get grinds customers through word of mouth.

I do grinds. Always just stick an ad in the local free paper,if that's an option. Get loads of calls. You'd always get friends of students coming to you then. To be honest though, there's not much call for primary grinds in my experience. Mainly secondary.

Before you advertise make sure you know whether you'd travel to the student and how much you'd charge. Few things to bear in mind, if you won't travel some parents will be wary of leaving their child alone in a strangers house, especially at primary age. If you do travel, how far would you go, would you factor in petrol costs to the fee?

The first year I did grinds I ended up taking on everyone that called me, resulting in a full day at school, 2 hours to myself, then 3 hours of grinds back to back. No life and completely draining.
