    2004 Fiesta (newer shape) 1.4L.

Issue is when turning off the ignition, sometimes the engine fan comes on and remains on for a good few minutes even though the car is not running and locked etc... The temperaure gauge inside is normal. Car runs perfect otherwise

Any ideas?? or more info needed.

    Cheers

    +1, it's fine.

Although it does seem a bit pointless, unless the water pump's running too.

Reason I ask is a few friends etc have fiestas and they never hear the fan on after lockig the car. So I thought it was strange....was thinking it thermostat/sensor or something....

Can't remember if it was alwys like this or not.

Does seems strange as if the fan comes on and you put back in the key and turn (without starting) it stops. Then turn off again and remove key it may not come on. Like an intermittant fault or something.

Usually a sticker inside the engine compartment with the following on it:

So I guess its expected behaviour on most cars
