I understand 2:1 share splits and 3:1 splits etc but what is a 1:1 share split?

I have shares in a German Company and Reuters says that on the 20/10/2008 there was a 1:1 share split. Is that good or bad for me?

Or is this an American term for 2:1 split ?

If it happened in 2008 then you have nothing to worry about.

Since you don't mention the company I can't say for sure, but 1:1 on a European exchange usually just means an instrument swap... it is normally done for legal or technical reasons, but since I don't know the company....

    Good luck with that,

    Jim
