    Hi,

I will be in Waterford this weekend and need to get a 13 mile run in.

Does anyone have any suggestions for a nice route? Staying in the Dunmore Rd area.

    Thanks

Easier if you can drive out of town to be honest. But otherwise
    1. An anti-clockwise into town, out Gracedieu Road and Knockhouse Road and back along the Outer Ring. You might have to drop out to Knockboy though (for example) to get the full miles in.
    2. Into town and across the Bridge into Cat country where there are some really nice traffic-light lanes out to the east. I don't have any specific routes though.

why not do the waterford half marathon route?
starting at the rsc out to tramore and back, exact route should be on waterford ac website.
or run down to the munster express annual 10k race and run back
depending on where on the dunmore road you are it could be 3 miles to 10k start and 3 back making 12.2, slight detour makes the 13

    10k run here

Thanks for the suggestions. I had thought of heading out the Tramore Rd, I just wasn't sure if the cars are a bit intimidating out that route.

I might think about the Grace Dieu - Knockhouse Rd route. I worked it out roughly there on Map My Run and it gets me just over 11.5m. I don't know the road very well, but sure if I get lost, it'll save me adding the miles in at the end. :)

If you head out to Tramore back its roughly 13 miles, depending where you running from. Its safe enought as there is a hard shoulder all the way out. Ive done it a load of times so you should be fine.

Or you can run this route http://www.mapmyride.com/ride/ireland/waterford/374128404098812158 its a lap of the city and its a nice run. Ive mapped it from Waterford Regional Hospital as you mentioned you are staying out that way and head straight out road as shown. You turn right at carriganore, about 5 1/2 mark (roundabout after b & Q) and run for about 2 miles until you come to the bottom of a steepish hill (morrisons road on map). Turn left and run on to the quay and just follow the road out to WRH. Its a fine run if you do it.
