EU Friend coming here - Benefits

    Hi all,

My other half is coming to Ireland shortly from abroad to be with me more as we spend our time going between the two countries visiting each other over the last couple of years.
My question or concern is, once they get here, will they have any entitlement social welfare wise?
I am working full time myself but am concerned that there will be no assistance for them once they arrive here.
My friend is working at the moment in another EU state and leaving that to come here but once here, obviously there will be a period of looking for a job etc.

We are thinking to get married so this throws another spin on things, would it be worth our while to bring marriage plans forward or will there be some assistance social welfare wise once here?

Gone anonymous for this as it could be a ridiculous question but I have never had dealings with S/W so...

    Thanks all
