not too sure if this is the right forum.

But im wondering what the deal is with domain names with .eu

Im curious cause me and my buddy noticed there was no google.eu and bought the domain name.

Will it bring us profit or does google just not need it?

They've probably decided not to register it. However, it's unlikely to bring you any profit. You're cybersquatting. If they want the domain, there is a procedure in place to "evict" you if nessecary.

ah i see. thats fair enough.

I could probably use the domain name though to my advantage. Maybe set up a website and use google adverse to make a bit of bob?

Google didn't buy the EU domain as is not needed for them.

Try typing www.google.com and you will see that the link auto-changes to .ie

Google (and other big companies) are taking advantage of IP location to re-direct customers to their country.

Very few companies are currently using the EU domain, but if the EU is like the IE domain (no research done on this) a "proper" company will be able to re-claim it legally, so you may loose your money.
