Hi. I can upgrade to an iPhone 4, with my current package, fir €199. When I check envirofone.ie o can get just under €250 for my 3gs. However I'm reluctant to upgrade without some certainty that I will get the €250 from envirofone. I'm also wary about doing it the other way around ie sell my current phone and then upgrade.

It's seems too easy. I know I could possibly get more by selling my current phone thru other channels but this is a more hassle free way for me. Also I'm happy enough that it will lock me into a new contract as o have now plans to change providers.

So any pitfalls? Has anyone else done anything similiar? Thanks in advance. H

Sell it on adverts instead! Prices for the 3gs range from €280-350 depending on age, condition etc. The ad is free also.

Thanks folks. I've never sold anything online before. Is it a straightforward enough process? I'll have a look anyway and get an idea of what they are going for.

if working, they sell them on and if not working they get stripped for their parts or for certain elements that can be melted down and then sold.

According to envirofones website '95% of our mobile phones are reused. In most cases they’re refurbished and sold to developing countries where they can play a major part in helping to develop communication networks. The reuse of mobile phones offers a valuable infrastructure in these countries.
If a phone is beyond economic repair then we send the phone off to a recycling plant in the UK where it’s broken down and valuable metals and components are extracted. We strongly oppose electronic waste and as a designated waste handler we take our responsibilities very seriously.'

Cool my 3Gs jb and unlocked is acting up lately , I'd rather sell to these then sell to someone off adverts or a mate and have them moaning .

    Ps
In fairness I dropped it from about 20 feet and it's still works so Im lucky :)

I've sold and my son's bought an iPhone on Adverts. I wouldn't go anywhere else. You can do it face to face, will get a fair price as other members will be bidding against each other and know how much an iPhone is worth. Highly recommended.

with envirofone if there is any fault whtsoever, the max you get is 70% of the full price. They are thoroughly checked. Fair wear & tear excepted. No water damage. All buttons must work. No cracks. Light scuffs / scratches are okay. For selling on adverts, it would be an advantage if it's officially unlocked. Good luck
