    is it 5.56 as in the military round. or is it .223 what is stamped on the bottom.

    5.56 should not be used in .223 rifles unless the rifle states it can handle the pressure of them.

    .308 is more powerful than 7.62, but .223 is a milder round pressure wise in comparison to a 5.56
    My understanding 5.56 should only be used in SA's or rifles chambered for them

    62,366 psi Vs 55,000psi in .223
    The brass is thicker on the 5.56 to account for this.
    Remington state not to use 5.56 in their .223 chambered rifles bolt action
