    Hi everybody

I am starting a FAS course for 9 months on monday and i am just wondering what and i entitled to.
I am abit clueless as to how the fas system works.
I no FAS pay me the same income a week as i get on the social welfare.
I do not have any transport and live a good distance from the FAS center, is there a travel allowance i can apply for or any other types of grants to help me out. ?

also the 1st week i start my course i get paid a week in hand so i was wondering would it be worth going to see my cwo to see if she could help me out the week i dont get paid ?

    any help would be great
    Kind regards
    Sinead

There is a travel allowance which is a set rate based on the distance to the course. There is also a small meal allowance.

Its all usually sorted out with a bit of form filling on the 1st day of the course.
